Terrence Mann To Go Cabaret at UConn, And Other Tidbits

I hear that director Diane Paulus is working on a stage piece about Gloria Steinem. It’s called, aptly, “Gloria.”..Three-time Tony Award nominee Terrence Mann (“Les Miserables,” “Pippin,” “Beauty and the Beast”) -- who is also the new artistic director of Connecticut Repertory Theatre -- will present  on June 24 “Terry’s Cabaret Late Nite,” a special fundraising event added to the Nutmeg Summer Series schedule of programming. It will follow the performance of “Noises Off”.
There is limited seating and the event ticket includes an open bar, hors d’ouevres and desserts....Producers for the Tony Awards are hunting furiously for a host for the CBS telecast June11. Suggestions? Andrew Rannells is my fave pick. Josh Groban would attract some eyes, too. So would Jake Gyllenhaal...The Connecticut Critics Circle Awards will be held Moinbday, June 26 at Sacred Heart University’s Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts in Fairfield. The event is free and open to the public and a great celebration for the best of Connecticut’s professiobnal theater...Sad news: The mother of TheaterWorks’ producing artistic director Rob Ruggiero died unexpectedly in Massachusetts.
