Michael John LaChiusa Set For Hartford's OUTFilmCT Fest

Composer Michael John LaChiusa will be "in conversation": following the premiere of the film based on his off-Broadway musical "Hello Again" at Hartfod's Cinestudio on Wednesday, June 7.

The screening of the film is part of the 30th anniversary of the film festival OUTFilm CT.

A reception will be held at 6 p.m. The screening of "Hello Again" is at 7:30 p.m. 

"Hello Again" is loosely based on the 1897 play La Ronde by Arthur Schnitzler (also titled Reigen). and follows a series of love affairs among 10 characters during the different decades of the 20th century.

The musical premiered Off-Broadway in 1993, directed and choreographed by Graciela Daniele. Since then it has been performed in London, Sweden, Australia, Germany, and New York.

Among LaChiusa's pother musicals are "Giant," "Marie Christine," "First Lady Suite," "The Wild Party," "See  What I Wanna See," "Queen of the Mist,"  "First Daughter Suite" and "Rain."

LaChiusa is also an adjunct professor at the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.

The festival itself will be held from June 2 to 10.
